This smooth plane is made from a single piece of Macassar Ebony with very nice grain pattern. The plane iron is Special Tool Steel. It is 44 mm wide and 3 mm thick.
The iron has not been honed, you need to complete the sharpening process with you own prefered technique before first use. A high quality honing jig is recommanded. Do it slowly and enjoy.

As all wood products, please Wait a few weeks till wood settles before tunning up. Always start with lightest cut and it only take a little practice to get used to adjusting the depth of cut for a wooden plane.
