Editorial Reviews:

The Wooden Block Plane by EC Emmerich is one of our most popular items. A great value for the price. Well made "Primus" adjustment mechanism is the finest made. Very fine movement and no backlash. Adjustment knob doubles as a palm rest making this plane very comfortable to use. Super-hard ironwood sole will last forever. Iron is made from high quality German tool steel.

Summary: A great wooden block plane
Comment: This well made wooden block plane offers a great alternative to mass produced metal ones. It fits the hand well, and I have not seen a need to tune the sole. The blade was sharp, and the plane cut efficiently right out of the box.

Unlike other wooden planes in my collection, this plane has a screw adjustment for the blade. This works very well.

I am very happy with this tool. It is an imminently functional and elegant design that has been well executed.

Summary: Outstanding hand plane
Comment: I needed a high-angle block plane with a fine adjustment, and this is the one. After honing the blade to 22.5 degrees, I can quickly level inlays that I used to have to use a belt sander on. Definitely worth the money, and my wife says it's "cute".
