Summary: What more can I add?! Batteries are the BEST
Comment: Bought this in December '07 (it is now Jan. 2009) and have used it regularly. The batteries hold a charge like no other tool I've ever used. I just finished a day of drilling 3/4" holes in 2x6 plates and studs with this drill on a single battery that is over a year and a half old. Went all day without giving out even while drilling up to three plates thick. So impressed that I had to write this quick review. The best drill I have ever owned - period!

Summary: Warranty issues
Comment: I bought this drill in June 08 and gave it limited use. I was boring through a 2x6 to run some electrical wire and the clutch broke. The spade bit was new and the wood soft, so I was surprised. I sent it out to be repaired and it has been over a month and the facility still doesn't have the replacement parts. Disappointing.

Summary: 5 years and still useable
Comment: I use this as a household drill and occasionally construction projects (screwing sheetmetal on a polebarn "lots of screws"). Under extreme use (pole barn screwing) the drill can get warm. Torque is sufficient for almost everything (drilling 1" spade bit through 3" wall header took its toll and I finally went to a corded 1/2" drill. batteries after 5 years are still working but have lost about half their capacity. They are very usable though and both recharge fast. The brake portion of the trigger switch went out after 3 years which was irritating.
something to look for is a drill that LOCKS when idle so you can use the drill as a manual screwdriver for that last 1/8 turn on the drywall screw. Some cheaper drills don't lock and I wont have one that wont..
Its been a good drill but I may try something different since I'm ready to replace this and the cost has not gone down...

Summary: Panasonic
Comment: There is no doubt in my mind that Panasonic has the longest lasing batteries on the market. I've had all different brands and since I've owned this one I'll never buy anything else.

Comment: This is a great drill. I have purchased 4. The main reason, it was a better deal to buy an entire kit rather than a relacement bat. and charger.
